Blagojevich (7/29/2010)

Terry was on WGN Wednesday morning and noon news (national and international) regarding the Blagojevich trial is now in the jury's hands.

Judge blocks AZ Immigration Law (7/29/2010)

A federal judge has blocked the Arizona Immigration Law that was to go into effect today.  The judge holds that enforcement of this law would burden legal residents and interfere with federal policy. 

Closing Arguments (7/27/2010)

Terry has been busy this morning discussing the closing arguments which continued today in the Blogojevich trial with WGN, CNN and the Chicago Tribune.

Defense rests in Blagojevich (7/22/2010)

Wednesday Terry made multiple appearances on the WGN News regarding the new bombshell development in the ex Governor’s trial.  Terry discussed the defense team’s decision to not have Rod testify on his own behalf and how that may affect the outcome of his case.

Terry also spoke with Canadian News on the new developments in the Conrad Black case.

Conrad Black to appear tomorrow (7/22/2010)

 Conrad Black, the former Hollinger International Chairman was freed yesterday from prison after posting a $2 million bail bond.

US District Judge Amy J. St. Eve set the bail amount and there is a hearing in Federal court tomorrow in which she will instruct him on terms of his release.

Terry has been speaking with Canadian Television offering his commentary on Black’s release since to the Supreme Court decision  on the Honest Services law.

Defense set to begin in Blagojevich (7/19/2010)

As Governor Blagojevich’s defense team gets ready to begin today, Terry analyzes the pros and cons of a client taking the stand in his/her own defense and possible strategies for defense. Rod Blagojevich, Rob Blagojevich and Patti Blagojevich all are expected to testify.  Keep watching for further analysis.

Nestle Settles FTC False Advertising Charges (7/15/2010)

According to Nancy Nicol at The Sullivan Firm, ltd. the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleged that Nestle falsely claimed BOOST Kid Essentials is clinically shown to reduce illness in children.  Last month Nestle ran another add claiming that Rice Krispies cereal "now helps support your child's immunity". Such claims are evaluated by the Drug & Food Administration (FDA) but since they appear in advertisements, they fall under the FTC Act.  As part of the settlement, Nestle agreed not to make any of these claims unless it receives FDA approval. 

Blagojevich Prosecution to Rest (7/13/2010)

As the Prosecution is expected to rest this week in the case of former Illinois Governor Blagojevich, the defense seeks a continuance to prepare for their early start, since the trial is running ahead of schedule.

Terry discussed this on the WGN evening news last night and WGN Radio today. He commented that the 6th Amendment to the Constitution, right to counsel, would lean in favor of the Judge granting a short continuance to the defense.

Blago defense opening appears close (7/13/2010)

Terry appeared again today on the WGN news at noon to discuss the trial of former Illinois Governor Blagojevich. As the final witnesses for the prosecution wrap-up, the defense team now struggles to prepare weeks ahead of schedule. This includes sending subpoenas to all corners of the continent and most importantly perhaps, to the white house.

Terry to Appear on WBBM Radio Program "At Issue" (7/9/2010)

Thursday during the WGN mid-day news, as well as, the national and international noon broadcast, Terry discussed the recent developments in the Drew Peterson trial and the ramifications of the state’s appeal on Peterson’s case.

Terry will be appearing on WBBM Newsradio 780’s “At Issue” program, Sunday, July 11th at 9:30 am. He will be alongside Law Professor Richard Kling and the Daily Herald’s Christy Gutowski. The show will also be broadcast on the SCORE and WXRT. The discussion involves the recent developments in the Drew Peterson case.

Drew Peterson Trial Delayed (7/8/2010)

Terry was busy today with appearances on both WGN Morning News and CLTV providing analysis on the new developments in the Drew Peterson trial. More importantly, according to the Supreme Court Rule, Drew Peterson should be a free man pending the outcome of the State's appeal.

Illinois Supreme Court Rule 604 states "a defendant shall not be held in jail or to bail during the pendency of an appeal by the State, or of a petition or appeal by the State under Rule 315(a), unless there are compelling reasons for his or her continued detention or being held to bail."

Blagojevich and Peterson (7/7/2010)

Terry appeared on the National and International news Tuesday on Blagojevich testimony and will be appearing tonight on WGN evening news on the appeal by the State on the Drew Peterson matter.  Tomorrow Terry will be on WGN morning news at 7:30 am to discuss the future of the case.
