An Illinois child has been charged in Woodford County with starting a fire that killed 5 in a mobile home park. Under Illinois law, he is not entitled to a jury trial if he’s under 10. But the prosecution will nonetheless have a tough time proving that he could have formed a premeditated intent, based on what is now known about a child’s brain development; in fact, he probably still believes that Micky Mouse is real.

THREE FLOYDS WANTS THEIR NAME

Stating in a federal lawsuit that “consumers frequently shorten the Three Floyds marks to ‘Floyds’, the craft brewing company based in Munster has recently sued Floyd’s Spiked Beverages for trademark infringement, even tho the latter produces only spiked teas & lemonades. The issue of whether consumers would be likely to confuse both brands, this nonetheless shows how serious craft brewers have become at protecting their intellectual property.
