Charges Dismissed against Robert Blagojevich (8/26/2010)All charges have been dismissed in federal court today against Robert Blagojevich, the brother of the former Governor. Terry will be on the noon broadcast of the WGN News discussing this and its implications for the remaining charges against Rod. The Cost of Retrial (8/20/2010)With Governor Blagojevich and his brother Robert now facing the possibility of another trial, the people of Illinois are beginning to talk about the financial burden on them, if and when that happens. Sam Adam Jr., one of the defense attorneys estimate that cost at over 20 million. However, there seems to be a disagreement on the actual number. The spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office pointed out, their office provides more money to the federal treasury than it spends. Verdict and Mistrial (8/18/2010)Terry Sullivan was in federal court for the reading of the Rod and Robert Blagojevich verdict yesterday. Blago jury sends note (8/12/2010)The jury continues their deliberations in the trial of ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich and his brother Robert. Accidental death Insurance policies (8/3/2010)According to Attorney Nancy Nicol, courts are often asked to interpret accidental death insurance policies to determine whether the survivors of a drunk driver killed in a crash can collect benefits. A recent decision by a Colorado court stated that it is not too much to ask insurers to state unambiguously whether death and disability caused by the insured’s drunk driving is an accident. |
